Roski-bred Journeyman Heading To Dubai

Journeyman bred by ourselves is on his way to Dubai, part of Mike De Kock's contingent of 14 horses who entered quarantine in Mauritius earlier this month - the second leg of their long journey to compete at Meydan after passing quarantine in South Africa. The horses recently finished a 21-day quarantine period in South Africa, and will stay in Mauritius for another 90 days.

From there, the horses progress to the Abingdon House facility in Newmarket, where they must spend a month before kicking on with a few additional stablemates to Dubai, where they will face another six days of quarantine.

Journeyman is an outstanding bay colt by Trippi, out of Rambo's Love by Rambo Dancer. Purchased by Mary Slack's Wilgebosdrift Stud for R900 000, Journeyman is trained by Mike De Kock and got off to a cracking debut, winning by almost four lengths from Buffalo Bill at Turffontein over 1160m. His next and last South African start was at Scottsville over 1200m in the Gr 2 Umkhomazi Stakes, where he finished third - merely a length off Colour Of Courage under Anton Marcus.

Journeyman's dam, Rambo's Love, is Gr 3 Debutante winner herself and her record includes two wins and nine places. She is a half-sister to six-time winner Dance All Day, and Gr 3 placed Manville. Juli Santini of Roski Stud reports that Rambo's Love has a very nice Toreador yearling colt, and that she will be visiting Var this coming season.

This is also the dam-line of Brief Affaire, Land Lubber, European champion filly Pass The Peace and Embassy - the granddam of King's Apostle.

We look forward to much more to come from this talented colt!
