Island Emblem Wins At The Vaal

After placing in eight of his 14 starts, the consistent Island Emblem won at the Vaal over 1400m by almost three lengths, shedding his maiden tag in dramatic fashion.

By National Emblem out of Ille Saint Marie by Braashee, the three year old gelding is trained by Paul Peter and owned by the Hyperpaint Syndicate. He beat the very useful Stormy Cape (by Windrush) into second place and Matchless Flag (Classic Flag) into third position at even weights of 60kg.

At this weekend's Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale taking place on 26 & 28 April 2013, Roski Stud is offering a half-brother to Island Emblem named Rascality by Kahal - a full-brother to 4-time winner Looks Like Trouble, who also placed in the Gr 3 East Cape Derby. Rascality is being presented as Lot 459 at the upcoming sale.

Ille Saint Marie has produced seven winners to date, including 4-time winner Arewehavingfunyet (by National Emblem) and 6-time winner Precision (by Fard), as well as 3-time winner Trouble Again by Kahal.

The second dam is French mare Confettine, dam of 6-time winner Louis Luck (including the Michael Roberts Listed).
