Roski-breds Polytrack Greyville Wins Over Weekend

Two Roski-breds, both by Kahal, won over the weekend at Greyville on the new Polytrack.

Four year old Kalidar [pictured below left as a yearling], immaculately bred out of Alydar mare Lydara, has placed four times previously and got up to get his first win over 1900m.

Trained by Paul Gadsby and owned by Messrs A Reddy, Terence Mudaly & S Beeplall, Kalidar under jockey Sean Veale defeated Jay Boy (Jay Peg), Pilgovan Star (Silvano) and Falling Sky (Ashaawes) by three quarters of a length. His dam, Lydara, is a half-sister to Gold Beauty - a Gr2 winning dam of sire Dayjur as well as sires Felix The Cat, The Prime Minister and Majestic Venture.

Kalidar was sold at the 2012 National Yearling Sale for R140 000.

Academy Princess, a R60 000 graduate of the 2013 KZN Yearling Sale, won by three quarters of a length over 1600m under Anthony Delpech for trainer Craig Eudey. She beat Halloween Night (Sail From Seattle), Ms Brooks (Dupont) and Smokethatthunders (Windrush) respectively.

Owned by Mesdames C A Mayers & P A Young, Academy Princess [pictured right as a yearling] is out of Royal Observer(AUS) by Royal Academy and this is her first win from just four starts.

Congratulations to the winning connections!
