Roski-Bred 2YO Colt Drunken Sailor Impresses To Win At Greyville
We were very pleased with Sunday's outstanding result from Drunken Sailor, an athletic 2yo son of Irish Flame who won third time out for Gavin Van Zyl. The handsome dark bay colt has placed twice in both his previous starts over 1000m and 1200m and has pushed up our winners to runners percentage to an impressive 44%.
Our decision to focus on quality as opposed to quantity is clearly paying off and we have a young band of top class broodmares, who have proved themselves on the racetracks and are all Black Type.
Owned by Team G Racing, Drunken Sailor has already earned close to R80 000 in stakes.
Out of Lady Tatters by Solskjaer, we are very excited to present the second foal from Gr3 placed Lady Tatty by the brilliant sire Gimmethegreenlight, at the upcoming National Yearling Sale in April as Lot 188, Captain Tatters
. The dam herself a 3-time winner in addition to placing in the Gr3 Joburg Spring Challenge.
Drunken Sailor was her first produce, and this is the damline of sire French Glory, Gr1 winner Desert Links and Selbourne Park, amongst others.
Keep a look out for our draft
at the National Yearling Sales in April, including three produce by Oratorio, Captain Of All and What A Winter.
Congratulations to Gavin Van Zyl on an outstanding win!
