More Winners For Roski - 40% Winners To Runners!

Since Onamission's win on 13 April, Roski have had two more winners since with Highway Eightyfive and Mostarda at Greyville on Sunday, along with two places. Our farm is proudly sitting on 40% winners to runners according to the NHRA website currently - a great feat from our small band of elite broodmares.

Highway Eightyfive, a son of Kahal out of our former mare Reigning Queen, secured his second win for Doug Campbell and owners Messrs Mervin Naidoo, P A Govender & Mrs Kumari Naidoo, Messrs D J Hawkins & B I Rajhununan. The three year old is a half-brother to Noble Duke - a Roski mating before the mare was sold on. Noble Duke placed impressively on debut, becoming the first cheque earner for his sire Eightfold Path.

Highway Eightyfive has also placed six times for his owners - he sold for R110 000 in 2015 at the National Yearling Sale, and has earned over R150 000 to date.

Mostarda secured her first win for trainer Gavin Van Zyl and owners Mr A Dunleavy & Team G Racing. The Horse Chestnut filly out of Carina Coleman by The Sheik placed consistently four times prior to her win. With top jockey Bernard Fay'd Herbe in the irons, she won on the Greyville turf over 1600m by over a length.

Mostarda is a half-sister to the imposing Crusade juvenile colt Calladdi, who has been unlucky to place two close seconds from his three starts for owners Greenstreet Bloodstock.

Our other two places during the week both came from broodmare Rambo's Love - the dam of Gr2 placed and Dubai winner, Journeyman. The big dark bay Chilli Affair has found form since relocating to KZN and the son of Western Winter finished second at Greyville over 2000m. Varside, a juvenile filly in training with Justin Snaith, is by Var as her name suggests and she finished third under Bernard at Kenilworth over 1200m. She is looking for a win soon after placing three times from four starts.

Visit us at the National Yearling Sale taking place at the TBA Complex in Johannesburg, from 3-5 May. View our National Yearling Sale draft at the following link, with photos and pedigrees.
