Father Ted Sheds Maiden At Clairwood

Ultra-consistent Father Ted, by Requiem out of Tambura by Jallad, broke his maiden in convincing fashion - winning by almost 2.5 lengths on Sunday at Clairwood in slightly soft going, from Millenimista (St Petersburg) and El Manolete (Toreador).

Partially owned by Roski Stud, Father Ted is also part-owned and trained by Garth Puller and ridden to victory by Anton Marcus.

Passed through as unsold at the 2011 KZN Yearling Sale, Father Ted has been the model of consistency - placing five times at both Scottsville and Clairwood - and winning from seven starts over distances of 1200m - 1600m.

His dam Tambura has produced winners from all her runners including 6-time winner Katara (by Silvano) who also placed second in the East Coast Oaks Listed, 4-time winner Psaltery (by Strike Smartly) as well as 2-time winner Rum Baby (by Kabool).

His dam has an outstanding yearling filly named Lady Washington by Fort Wood.
