Chilli Affair, an outstanding dark bay colt by the sadly deceased Western Winter, topped the first day's selling at the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale over the last weekend. Out of Rambo's Love by Rambo Dancer - and a half-brother to Dubai-bound Group winning Journeyman, Chilli Affair was prepared and consigned by Jane Trotter's Ambleway Thoroughbreds.

Chilli Affair entered the sales ring early as Lot 4 and sold for a massive R1,2 million to Adriaan Van Vuuren.

Journeyman, a R900 000 yearling by Trippi and also bred by ourselves, is on his way to Dubai after winning his debut by almost four lengths and going on to place second in his last South African start - the Gr 2 Umkhomazi Stakes, beaten a length by Colour Of Courage.

He is part of Mike De Kock's group of 14 horses being sent to compete at Meydan in the Dubai Racing Carnival. He is owned by Wilgebosdrift Stud.

This is also the dam-line of Brief Affaire, Land Lubber, European champion filly Pass The Peace and Embassy - the granddam of King's Apostle.

Congratulations to the connections of Chilli Affair!
