Second Win For Rascality At Scottsville
Roski-bred Rascality got her second win, the first in KZN, for trainer and part owner Gavin Van Zyl who races the filly in partnership with Al Khayl Breeders (PTY) Ltd.
The top weight of the field at Scottsville on Tuesday and jumping from a third draw in the pouring rain, Rascality won over 1950m by a quarter of a length under Warren Kennedy in very soft going from Likeness and September Storm. She gave the second horse an additional beating in weight, with Likeness claiming the apprentice allowance meant that Rascality shouldered 8kgs more than the second horse crossing the line.
Rascality is by Kahal out of Ille Saint Marie by Braashee, a R120 000 graduate off the 2013 National Yearling Sale.
A mating that worked with a 100% success rate with Kahal, Ille Saint Marie visited him four times of the 11 foals that she produced; the first product of that mating was Looks Like Trouble, a six-time winner who placed in the Gr3 East Cape Derby.
The second mating produced Trouble Again, a four-time winner who placed an incredible 21 times; the next was Island Mischief who won and placed five times and the last is Rascality, who has placed 2nd three times and won twice from just eight starts.
In total Ille Saint Marie, a descendant of a Bold Black Type French damline, produced nine runners and eight winners in total.
Well done to all concerned!
