More Black Type For Roski Fillies; Al Kateece Collects Third Win
Roski-bred fillies, both retained for future stud purposes and exciting prospects - Frosty Friday and Cassie O' Malley each placed on Gauteng Guineas Day at Turffontein on the weekend from the stable of Gavin Van Zyl. Frosty Friday's older half-sibling by Captain Al, Al Kateece, collected his third win at Flamingo Park on Monday.
The ever consistent daughter of Jet Master, Cassey O' Malley, placed fourth just over a length from Off The Mark in the Gr3 Acacia Handicap, under Muzi Yeni. Already a three-time winner, Cassie O' Malley has placed third previously in the Gr3 Flamboyant Stakes. In total, her career shows eight places and three wins from 17 starts.
Impressive filly Frosty Friday, by Western Winter out of Katici Princess (a half-sister to Kahal) ran on to get a third in the Gr2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas, just over a length off the winner Heaps Of Fun. Frosty Friday has already won three times (consecutively) and placed three times from all of her starts.
Her year older brother, the handsome son of Captain Al named Al Kateece, has found a new lease on life at Flamingo Park and has won or placed in each of his starts for Cliffie Miller since his relocation. From seven starts and three wins he has placed three times. He gave the second horse, another consistent producer in McGeek an additional 3kg beating in weight.
